Mercedes Langford returned to the Pacific Northwest from the University of Cincinnati where she served as a Senior Academic Advisor. She facilitated the selective admission process for allied health majors, which required coordinating and creating consensus between faculty and staff across various academic disciplines and functional areas.
Langford has over seventeen years of experience in higher education, with eight years of direct experience working in multicultural and diversity related positions, including Coordinator for the Diversity Development Office at Oregon State University. At various other institutions, Langford has worked as a multicultural student organization advisor, diversity scholarship coordinator, diversity trainer/facilitator, as well as a director of undergraduate student services for the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis.
She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has been active with various professional organizations, including National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, and shopping and is looking forward being closer to family in Oregon.
