Career Development and Placement
What types of career development and placement services are provided?
We are committed to providing our students with superior career services. And even in tough economic times, our placement in 2009 was 88% within 3 months after graduation. The Lundquist College of Business has its own career services office. MAcc students are required to begin to work with this office during the summer before the program begins to refine resumes and prepare for interviews which typically begin shortly after classes start.
In addition to working closely with career services, receptions with recruiters occur during fall orientation and Beta Alpha Psi Meet the Firms is held during early October. The program also provides transportation for students to attend the Oregon Society of CPAs Career Showcase in Portland.
What other resources are available for students to connect with professionals?
MAcc students are encouraged to join the UO chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national scholastic and professional accounting fraternity. Our chapter was awarded gold chapter status in 2009, only one of 14 chapters to be awarded this status. Beta Alpha Psi meets each week and is a valuable resource to learn about recent trends in the accounting profession, to network with professionals and to build friendships with other students.

Housing and Student Life
Where can I find information about housing?
UO Housing offers graduate students a range of options, including family housing. Many MAcc students choose to live off campus in one of the many privately owned (non-university) houses and apartments available each year in Eugene.
