The University of Oregon has launched access to an exciting new data resource for students. PitchBook is a database of private companies, venture capital and angel investors, private equity investors, and more, enabling users from any major, program, or college to learn more about startup and growth companies from around the world and their investors.
Students, staff, and faculty have access to PitchBook using their Duck ID. The information in this database is deep, making it a great resource to get unique perspectives on private companies.
PitchBook has many applications, including:
- Researching startup companies funding to see hiring trends and find jobs and internships
- Tracking private equity and venture capital investments in Oregon (or any geographic region) to compare economic outcomes
- Digging into companies in the news (think WeWork, Uber, AirBnb, etc.) to understand what’s happening and why
This resource is made available through a generous gift from the Oregon Community Foundation.
