Master of Accounting students have the opportunity to tailor their graduate education to support their career goals and aspirations.
The Master of Accounting program at the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business elevates and integrates accounting and business fundamentals to ready professionals for a robust career in public accounting or industry. In addition to core required courses and electives, we offer optional specializations in three areas:
- Tax
- Audit and Financial Reporting
- Data Analytics
Specialization Requirements
Students may choose one or more specializations based on their interests and career direction. Each specialization is earned by a combination of one core course and electives.
Tax Specialization
Comprised of ACTG 617 Taxation of Businesses, ACTG 618 Taxation and Business Strategy, ACTG 619 Taxation of Pass-through Entities, and ACTG 681 Accounting and Data Analytics II.
Audit and Financial Reporting Specialization
Comprised of ACTG 630 Accounting Measurement and Disclosure, ACTG 560 Government and Not-for-Profit Accounting, ACTG 631 Financial Statement Analysis & Valuation, and ACTG 642 Advanced Assurance Services.
Data Analytics Specialization
Comprised of ACTG 580 Accounting and Data Analytics I, ACTG 681 Accounting and Data Analytics II, ACTG 682 Accounting and Data Analytics III; and one of the following:
- OBA 510: Python Data Analytics;
- OBA 544 Business Database Management; or
- OBA 555 Data Driven Predictive Modeling.
