Our Portland Location

Our Portland presence serves as a hub for the Lundquist College of Business to connect with the Portland business community through master's programs, executive education, events, seminars, workshops, and more.

The University of Oregon enjoys a long history with the Portland area, including the establishment of the law school there nearly 150 years ago, and our Oregon Executive MBA and Sports Product Management graduate programs have been based there since their inceptions in 1986 and 2015 respectively.

In fall 2024, building on the momentum of a record-breaking gift from Connie and Steve Ballmer, these two Portland-based programs—along with other UO Portland academic programs—joined groundbreaking new ones like the Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health on the university's Northeast Portland campus. This spectacular location includes student housing, community spaces, and dining and recreation options.

Our Sports Product Management program is co-located with the Sports Product Design program (housed in the College of Design) and the School of Journalism and Communication in the Innovation Building. This building houses also the Innovation Lab, a unique product-making space that provides students with access to specialized equipment and hands-on experience in concept ideation and execution. The neighborhood setting, complete with athletic fields just outside our doors, allows for immediate, onsite testing of student products.

Meanwhile, our Oregon Executive MBA program is housed in the Library and Learning Center, a beautiful building looking used as the campus's key event center. This building's tiered classroom, a horseshoe-shaped layout based on the Harvard Business School case method classroom, allows for maximum interaction and communication among students and faculty. The classroom features tiered swivel seats that facilitate unobscured sightlines to the lectern and whiteboard, as well as state-of-the-art technology, including voice-activated microphones and a video system.
