Tips for Successful Tutoring Sessions

We want your experience at Braddock Tutoring to improve your learning skills and understanding of course concepts, so you can succeed in your courses. Students who have the best experience typically do the following:

  • Maintain a growth mindset – Understand that learning takes time. Stay positive, be persistent, and learn from mistakes.
  • Stay on top of things – Go to class, take notes, do the readings, and actually try the homework before it is due.
  • Avoid last-minute stress – Do not wait until right before an exam or assignment deadline to get help.
  • Attempt questions first – Use lecture slides, class handouts, textbooks, notes, or collaborate with classmates.
  • Have a game plan – Figure out what concepts or problems are causing the struggle.
  • Bring the right gear – Remember to bring laptop or tablet, notes, stationery, and any textbooks and handouts for the course.

Business Writing Support

Working on a Lundquist College course writing assignment? Undergraduate writing consultants are available to offer feedback and recommendations so you can revise your work with confidence and enhance your skills for a long-term advantage. Attend an in-person or virtual drop-in session to get one-on-one time with a peer tutor, or submit your work for feedback. You can also review our business writing guide for explanations and examples of common expectations in your business classes and professional writing.

Private Tutoring

During only fall, winter, and spring terms, there may be a list of students who are interested in providing private tutoring for select Lundquist College required courses for a fee. The list does not endorse any particular private tutor, and private tutors set their own pay rates and schedules. Please email lcbbraddock1@uoregon.edu for the contact information of any available private tutors.
