In anticipation of its Spring Recruiting Cycle, the University of Oregon Investment Group (UOIG) will be holding an open meeting on Monday, February 26 for anyone interested in getting a look inside the group's operations. This open meeting will include a presentation with information about the group and recruiting process, an alumni guest speaker, and a full stock pitch given by two of the group's senior analysts.

This event is a great opportunity to meet some of the group members and see first-hand the applicable skills for a career in finance that you can gain so quickly by experiencing and participating in a stock pitch given to the group.

Black History Month Guest Speaker: Bigger than the Door, the Room, or the Table: Sports Industry Insights and Academic Angles

Hear from Professor Courtney M. Cox in this special Black History Month guest speaker event "Bigger than the Door, the Room, or the Table: Sports Industry Insights and Academic Angles." Event includes appetizers and networking following the presentation. A virtual attendance option is offered for the guest speaker and Q&A portion of the event - RSVP for the link.

Cox is an assistant professor in the Department of Indigenous, Race, and Ethnic Studies (IRES) at the University of Oregon, where she also serves as Director of Graduate Studies. Her research examines issues related to identity, technology, and labor through sport and wine. Her current book project, Double Crossover: New Mobilities in Transnational Basketball, considers how Black women and non-binary athletes maneuver through the global sports-media complex. She is also co-director (with Perry B. Johnson, PhD) of The Sound of Victory, a multi-platform digital humanities project located at the intersection of music, sound, and sport. She previously worked for ESPN, Longhorn Network, NPR-affiliate KPCC, and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks.
