Requirements and Courses

Although the courses you take are at the center of the experience, they are part of an integrated set of activities, experiences, and resources that help you reach, discover, and achieve your potential.

STEM Certified

Our Master of Accounting degree is STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) certified. Therefore, international students will be eligible to work in the United States for up to 36 months after graduation instead of the standard 12-month optional practical training (OPT) period.

Meet Brett

Brett Filuk, MActg ’24, changed his major to accounting after encouragement from instructor Joel Sneed. Brett completed his undergraduate degree in accounting at UO and went on to join the Master of Accounting program, where his work was noticed by accounting firm Perkins & Co. 

“I want to be proud of the career that I have. Auditing is a component that holds companies accountable. It involves problem-solving skills that require companies to be transparent and honest. That is work that I would be proud to do.”
