The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) is a full-time, one-year graduate program taught in person at the University of Oregon’s Eugene campus. It is AACSB-accredited, STEM-certified, and one of a few worldwide whose curriculum is recognized by the CFA Institute.
Our top MSF program is ideal for those targeting a coveted career as a financial analyst—whether at a "sell-side" investment firm evaluating specific sectors/industries, a "buy-side" investment house managing its own funds, an investment bank, or a corporate finance department.
Requirements and Courses
The MSF program boasts a CFA Institute-recognized curriculum, preparing students to sit for the CFA exam. Fewer than 150 universities worldwide are included on this exclusive list.The curriculum consists of seven core courses, a capstone, a practicum, and electives (45 credits minimum). The MS in Finance program offers several experiential learning opportunities through the Cameron Center for Finance and Securities Analysis, including:

STEM Certified
Our MS in Finance program is STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) certified, so international graduates on an F-1 visa will be eligible to work in the United States for up to 36 months after graduation (instead of the standard 12-month optional practical training period).

Should I choose an MSF or an MBA?
The MSF is a specialized one-year finance degree for those targeting analyst and asset management roles. An MBA is a broader management degree suited to general leadership paths. University of Oregon also offers a concurrent MBA/MSF for students who want to earn both degrees in two years.
What jobs can you get with a master's degree in finance?
