Before Your First Term
Excel Foundations Course
Before they begin the program, MSM students build essential Excel skills that support their success throughout the program and beyond. This self-paced, online course taught by Professor Erik Ford takes approximately 25–30 hours to complete. Expect to end the course equipped with practical tools, time-saving shortcuts, and a strong foundation in Excel to help you excel in your coursework and career!
GMAC Prep Course
Incoming MSM students complete an online preparation course, which provides them with the skills they'll need throughout the program in their future careers. Working at their own pace over the summer, all new MSM students must complete this online course prior to orientation. Costs are covered by Lundquist College.
Kick-Off Event
Our MSM kick-off event takes place online each August. This half day session provides incoming students with the opportunity to brush up on the fundamentals of accounting and finance, meet their cohort, and learn more about academic planning to help optimize their time in the program.
Orientation
MSM orientation is required for all incoming students and is scheduled each September one week before the first day of classes. During orientation, incoming students will build community with their colleagues, faculty, and staff; develop skills in case analysis, leadership, and team dynamics, and more.
