At the Lundquist College of Business, we believe that great managers aren’t just born—they’re developed. Our MS in Management program offers intentional, hands-on learning experiences that will build your confidence and sharpen your skills.
Start Strong
In the first term, your entire cohort will take BA 691: Professional Development for Emerging Managers together. This course sets the tone for your entire MS in Management experience. It’s where you’ll connect with your peers, engage with industry professionals, and begin to see yourself as a leader in the making. The curriculum focuses on:
- Professional Development in Practice
- Communication Skills
- Teamwork
- Networking
- Interviewing
- Emerging Topics and Technologies
Guest Speakers and Executives
Hundreds of business leaders come to UO campus every year to share their insights with MSM students in workshops, lectures, or our guest speaker series. MSM students benefit from these shared experiences as well as make important connections to business leaders and professionals.
Trips, Site Visits, Study Tours
Lundquist alumni and business connections spread far and wide. Each winter, our MSM students travel to one of the west coast's major industry hubs—L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland—and visit with leading companies. Though these networking trips, MSM students gain insider knowledge from leading professionals at top firms and a host of valuable contacts.
Student Clubs and Organizations
Many MSM students participate in student clubs and gain valuable hands-on experience organizing social and educational events for other Lundquist students. No matter your interest, there's a way to get invovled.
Competitions
Whether it's business plan competitions for hopeful startup founders or case competitions in financial analysis, sustainability, and sports business, our MSM students participate in—and win—prestigious competitions in which they pitch their ideas, defend complex financial decisions, or demonstrate the benefits of optimized supply chains.
