Our accelerated MBA degree option can help propel your career forward or switch gears in half the time.

If you have a solid business foundation with an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, a strong academic record including a proven emphasis in quantitative skills (think econ and accounting), and a minimum of two years of post-undergraduate work experience, you may be eligible for our accelerated program. It's intense, but who wouldn't want to complete an MBA in fifteen months?

At a Glance

Eligibility

  • An undergraduate degree in business or a business or accounting major from an accredited school of business
  • A strong overall academic record
  • At least two years of post-undergraduate work experience or military service

Duration

  • 15 months (4 terms of full-time study; includes opportunity for a summer internship and international learning tour)

Requirements

  • 49 credits minimum for degree:
    • 7 MBA core courses (4 credits each, with the exception of BA 610: Business Writing, which counts as 1 credit):
      • BA 610: Business Writing
      • BA 680: Data Visualization and Communication
      • BE 625: Business Law and Ethics
        For students specializing in sports business: SBUS 653: Legal Aspects of Sports Business
      • MGMT 615: Leadership
      • MGMT 623: Negotiation
      • MGMT 640: Sustainable Business Development
      • MBA capstone:
        • FIN 671: Corporate Finance OR
        • BA 661: Oregon Advanced Strategy
    • Specialization courses and electives (3 or 4 credits each)
  • MBA seminar (programmatic requirement, not for credit)

Nonbusiness College Electives

In addition to the courses offered by the Lundquist College of Business, MBA students may choose up to three courses from other UO colleges and departments. Naturally, these electives should advance their business career and make sense as part of an MBA degree.

Oregon MBA students have taken courses in advertising, economics, education, environmental studies, geography, law, not-for-profit management, political science, psychology, and public administration.
