Although there is no formal application to complete for admission to the Business Honors Program, students must meet the admission requirements in order to receive an invitation to join.
Admission Requirements
Students interested in applying to the Business Honors Program must:
- Be admitted to the business or accounting major
- Have a GPA of 3.6 or higher in lower division core courses
- Complete the first workshop in Business Honors required workshop series
Admission Process
Business administration or accounting majors with a 3.6 or higher in the lower division core (BA 101, ACTG 211, ACTG 213, EC 201, and EC 202) will be invited to participate in a Business Honors workshop in the term following their completion of the pre-business requirements. Students will be admitted to the Business Honors Program upon completion of this workshop.
Students who are interested in honors and do not receive an invitation to participate in the workshop by Friday, April 19 should reach out to the program's faculty director to discuss their qualifications.
Program Requirements
Once admitted, students must complete the following in order to graduate with the Business Honors designation:
- One required honors course and at least three other honors designated business core courses
- A series of three workshops
- At least one significant applied learning or scholarly activity per academic year (60 hours)
- At least two community engagement points per academic year (40 hours)
- Earn a GPA of at least 3.2 each term following admission to the program
