Accounting Alumni Dominate 20 Under 40

We were thrilled to see that graduates of one or both of our accounting programs made up a full 20 percent of the Register Guard's most recent group of 20 Under 40 honorees. Now in its seventh year, the annual award recognizes the Lane County's emerging business leaders and honors them for community involvement as well as their career accomplishments.

Erik Parrish "03, MActg '04, is the chief financial officer at Hawes Financial, which makes him one of the youngest CFOs in the Eugene-Springfield area. Parrish—who is also an alumnus of the college's Business Honors program—is a founder of the Key Financial Executive Club and a member of the Lundquist College Department of Accounting's Accounting Circle. He is also active in many other community organizations.

Jesse Howes "02 is a financial services professional at New York Life and has a played a critical role in the growth of the national firm's Eugene office. A former BMX racer (he was second in the state in his last three years), Howes is involved with the Eugene Active 20-30 club, among other facets of the community.

Kristy Langworthy "06 was still an undergraduate when she started working as a payroll clerk at Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties back in 2000. Now the organization's chief financial officer, Langworthy's accomplishments include overseeing a major growth for Goodwill and playing a key role in its expansion of services to Alaska.

When Faith Quimby "00, MActg '01, took the CPA exam, she earned the year's second-highest score in Oregon. She has continued that lofty trajectory in her career at Isler, where she was recently promoted to partner—becoming the firm's youngest new partner in 30 years. She has held volunteer leadership roles at many community organizations and is a member of the Accounting Circle Advisory Board.

We applaud the many accomplishments of these four stellar alumni. Like all our graduates, they truly reflect the values of the college by bringing excellence and integrity to family, community, and their professions. Go Ducks!
