Professional Edge Policies

Attendance Requirements

Participants who will miss any portion of training due to extenuating circumstances must notify Professional Edge staff at professionaledge@uoregon.edu or the trainer in advance. Alternative arrangements, if available, require prior approval by Professional Edge staff or the trainer.

Participants arriving more than five minutes late to any training session will not be allowed to continue with the training program and will be considered a no-show.

Enrolled participants who miss the first day of training without providing prior notice through direct email to the Professional Edge team at professionaledge@uoregon.edu will be considered a no-show and

  • Will be automatically unenrolled from the program
  • May be charged a fee for training-related expenses
  • Will be ineligible to enroll in that training program the next term it is offered

Scheduling Changes and Cancellations

Participants will be notified of any cancelations or schedule changes.

Programs may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not met at the discretion of Professional Edge. If a program is canceled, participants will be notified, and when possible, alternative arrangements will be offered.

In cases of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, Professional Edge will attempt to reschedule the program within the same term.

Accessibility

Participants requiring accommodations should contact Professional Edge staff at professionaledge@uoregon.edu as early as possible before the start of the program to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made.

Earning and Issuing Microcredentials

Microcredentials are issued as verified digital badges through Canvas Credentials and will be sent to the student's email address provided at registration.

To earn the microcredential, participants must meet all specified requirements of a training program by the stated deadlines, which will be clearly outlined in the program materials and reinforced during the first training session. Earning criteria will also be posted on the course in Canvas Community for reference.

If requirements are not met, participants may retry in future program offerings. In rare cases, an alternative arrangement to demonstrate competence may be made available, subject to approval by Professional Edge staff.

Professional Conduct

All participants must adhere to the University of Oregon Student Code of Conduct. Violations may result in

  • Immediate removal from the training program
  • Revocation of the microcredential
  • Ineligibility to participate in future Professional Edge training programs
  • Referral to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards

Concerns regarding participant behavior may be reported to professionaledge@uoregon.edu for review.
