Equipment Checkout

Our lab has many technology items that can be borrowed for a few hours. The following are items available for students to check out and use for an allotted period of time:*

  • Calculators: Graphing and scientific
  • HDMI/VGA adapters: Adapters suitable for any Mac or PC for presentation purposes
  • Phone chargers: iPhone and Android phone chargers available
  • Laptop chargers: Chargers for all Mac and Dell laptops
  • Video cables

*All equipment checkout is for a period of less than 24 hours. Replacement fees may be accessed if items are not returned within the allotted time.


Document Services

Devices within the computer lab are multi-function, providing printing, copying, and scanning features. For assistance, speak to the computer lab front desk.

Printing and copying are charged at the following rates:

  • Black and white: $0.10 per sheet of paper, whether single- or double-sided
  • Color: $0.25 per side of paper

There are no fees when scanning from multi-function devices.

Each term, business and accounting students start with a $10 printing credit. Once credit has been exhausted or if not currently taking business classes any student can print in the business lab using Duck Bucks.

Printing

Computers in the Business Technology Center are configured to easily allow for printing. Students can print to any lab printer from a lab computer or from their own devices using the Duck Prints printing service. Visit the following pages for instructions:

Lab printers are labeled as follows:

  • FindMe Black & White – 326 Chiles
  • FindMe Color – 326 Chiles

Copying

To make copies, follow these instructions:

  1. At the copier, swipe your UO ID card or sign in with your Duck ID and password.
  2. Press "Access Device."
  3. Press "Copy."
  4. Place the project in the document feeder or open the top cover and place the document face down on the scanner glass.
  5. Use the touch screen copy menu to select the options applicable for the current project.
  6. When ready, press the "Start" button.
  7. When finished, press "Log on/Log off" button.

Scanning

When scanning, the multi-function printing device saves documents as PDFs, which can be sent to an email address or to the ScannerDropbox folder on the "S" drive.

To scan and send to an email address,

  1. At the copier, swipe your UO ID card or sign in with your Duck ID and password.
  2. Press "Access Device."
  3. Press "Email."
  4. Place the project in the document feeder or open the top cover and place the document face down on the scanner glass.
  5. Press "Enter Recipient."
  6. Using the on-screen keyboard, enter the recipient's email address.
  7. Press "Add."
  8. Use the touch screen menu to select options applicable for the current project.
  9. When ready, press the "Start" button.
  10. When finished, press "Log on/Log off" button.

To scan to the ScannerDropbox folder,

  1. At the copier, swipe your UO ID card or sign in with your Duck ID and password.
  2. Press "Access Device."
  3. Press "Scan-To."
  4. Place the project in the document feeder or open the top cover and place the document face down on the scanner glass.
  5. Press "Favorites."
  6. Press "ScannerDropbox."
  7. Use the touch screen menu to select options applicable for the current project.
  8. When ready, press the "Start" button.
  9. When finished, press "Log on/Log off" button.
