Students at the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business are presented with several opportunities to provide consulting work to the community. Through capstones, student-run groups, and more, students take on a wide range of consulting projects, tackling real-world business challenges.
Oregon Consulting Group
Housed in the Lundquist College of Business, the Oregon Consulting Group (OCG) is a professionally managed, student-run consulting organization that provides student consultants with the opportunity to gain a mastery of their classroom studies through intensive experiential learning. OCG serves companies and nonprofits on a wide range of consulting projects, providing clients with a professional deliverable from student consulting teams.
Strategic Planning Project
The keystone of hands-on learning in the Oregon MBA program is the Strategic Planning Project (SPP). SPPs typically begin in the fall or winter term of your second year and conclude the following term. You and two or three of your classmates will be matched with one of our industry partners to tackle a significant real-life business issue.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Student members of UO’s Beta Alpha Psi accounting honor society are specially trained in tax preparation and offer their services to the local community free of charge.
Oregon Executive MBA Capstone
Through the Oregon Executive MBA capstone course, students individually develop, research, and analyze a new business opportunity for their firm in an integrative, hands-on learning experience that can take the form of a business plan or a feasibility study.
