The University of Oregon houses a number of creative innovation labs in both Portland and Eugene where students can develop business ideas, create prototypes, and hone their creative skills.
Business ARC Innovation Lab
The residential community houses its own Innovation Lab, providing a great workspace for future entrepreneurs to develop business ideas and even create a prototype or two. Located in the business ARC pod on the first floor of Justice Bean Hall, the Innovation Lab is an ideal place for students to release creative energy and build their entrepreneurial spirit.

SPM Innovation Lab in Portland
One of the most unique parts of the Sports Product Management program is the SPM Innovation Lab. The lab is a product-making space that provides students with hands-on experience in concept ideation and execution. Students use specialized equipment to design, make, and test prototype sports and outdoor apparel, footwear, and equipment.
Insights Research Lab
The Insights Research Lab (IRL) is the epicenter for creating relationships between customers, researchers, businesses, and agencies. Drawing businesses and researchers from around the world, the IRL offers a research laboratory, collaboration studio, meeting space, and more.
Other Campus Innovation Spaces
- 942 Olive is UO's innovation hub. It includes both open space and private offices that startups can lease. It also hosts classes and fabrication labs.
- The University of Oregon operates the Riverfront Innovation Center to assist startups and spin-offs by providing research and lab space for emerging technology-based companies to develop their ideas and technologies.
