Joshua T. Beck Northwest Marketing Research Symposium

The Department of Marketing at the Lundquist College of Business will host the 2024 Joshua T. Beck Northwest Marketing Research Symposium. This will be the first year of the symposium after it was dedicated to honor Joshua T. Beck.

In honor of the goals originally articulated by Josh when he cofounded the symposium in 2017, the event aims to help marketing and consumer behavior scholars build community, share their research in progress, and support PhD students of the region by allowing them to present their research to a friendly audience before entering the job market.

About Joshua T. Beck

Joshua T. Beck founded the Northwest Marketing Research Symposium (formerly the Oregon Marketing Research Symposium) in 2017. His goals were to build community among marketing scholars (especially those in the region), to facilitate the exchange of research in progress, and to give doctoral students an opportunity to share their research with a friendly audience before entering the academic job market. Josh passed away tragically on April 6, 2023, at the age of 37. He was well-respected and admired among his colleagues, academics, and students—and was an especially supportive mentor of PhD students. We are pleased to remember Josh by naming the symposium in his honor.
