I grew up in Cairo, Egypt where I enjoyed a professional career that included multiple posts in sales, marketing, human resource management, and as an ethics and corporate social responsibility officer across a few industries. I'm happy to call Eugene home and be a member of the Management department at Lundquist since 2014.
The confluence of business, society, and agency fuels most of his research in management. This extends to topics such as the emergence of new institutions, the collaboration between stakeholder groups, legitimacy judgments, and strategic responses to field-level dynamics. Theoretically, I'm rooted in institutional theory with work on institutional work, institutional logics, and legitimacy and diffusion. Other research interests include social movements, sustainability, business ethics, and food systems.
