The Lundquist College of Business graduate commencement ceremonies are held separately from the main University of Oregon commencement ceremony that takes place at Autzen stadium. Graduation Checklist
Make sure to check and read your Canvas and UO e-mail announcements frequently for commencement updates!
Step One: Apply for Your Degree
Deadline: April 10
You must apply to graduate on GradWeb. Applying for your degree is different than registering to participate in commencement (see step two below). You must apply to graduate on GradWeb. Do this by April 10 to be listed in the printed program for the Lundquist College graduate programs ceremony. If you have questions about applying for your degree, email lcbgradadvising@uoregon.edu.
Step Two: Register to Participate in the Lundquist College Graduate Programs Commencement Ceremony
Deadline: Friday, May 1
In April, you will receive an email from the Office of Advising and Student Experience prompting you to complete the commencement registration form, which will ask for the following:
- Your preferred name pronunciation
- Any short message of thanks (optional)
- Your participation in commencement
This registration is required for all graduates who plan to walk in the ceremony. This applies to both ceremonies, regardless of which program.
Step Three: Purchase Regalia
Graduation regalia (caps, gowns, hoods, etc.) and announcements can be purchased at the UO Duck Store. The Duck Store will host an on‑site Grad Fair April 6–8, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Important note about gowns: Gowns and mortarboards are changing this year. If you plan to borrow regalia or use a gown from a former graduate, please keep in mind that your gown may be a slightly different shade of green.
For information about loaner regalia, email lcbgradadvising@uoregon.edu for assistance.
Regalia Requirements
- Master's students: Master's gown, mortarboard, tassel, hood (color: drab)
- Doctoral students: Doctoral gown, tam, tassel, hood (color: drab)
Tips for Preparing Your Gown
- Hang your gown early so wrinkles can relax. A steamy bathroom works well to release creases.
- Be mindful that the stage can get warm; lightweight clothing is recommended underneath regalia.
- If you need loaner regalia resources, please watch your email or reach out for assistance.
Step Four: Request Accommodations (Optional)
If you or your guests require any accommodations during the ceremony (i.e. mobility concerns or need for an ASL interpreter), please contact Jessica Brown at jdbb@uoregon.edu as early as possible. Accommodations are available for all graduate programs ceremonies.
Step Five: Complete the First Destination Survey
Deadline: June 15
Whether you have a job or are still exploring your options, complete your First Destination survey by June 15. If you don't yet have a post-graduation plan, we can help! Schedule a meeting with Mohr Career Services to help maximize your opportunities.
Step Six: Attend the Ceremony
More information on line-up procedures, stage cues, and photos will be emailed as the dates approach. Plan to be available at least one hour before your ceremony. Besides the ceremony, other commencement activities include:

Step Eight: Donate Your Regalia (Optional)
To support sustainability and reduce financial barriers, we hope to grow a collection of regalia for future graduates. All regalia donations will remain within the Lundquist College of Business.
