Emily Plews's research interests are in organization culture change processes and actors. Her interest in organization change sparked first as an external auditor during the onset of Sarbanes Oxley implementation and again as a student of triple bottom line enterprise at University of Michigan's Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise. Her work and study with the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship informs her understanding of the phenomena she studies.
Plews studies the process of issue selling within organizations and the influence individuals have over firm boundaries. Her research interests were inspired by her studies of organizational change and observations of experiences of change agents while completing her MBA and Master of Environmental Science at Michigan. Prior to her graduate studies Plews was an external auditor with a multinational public accounting firm in Ohio.
