Handshake’s “Room Only” on-campus interview option can be used to promote interviews. With “Room Only,” the interview schedule will be created by your team outside of Handshake. Some employers use their own applicant tracking system while others find success in external scheduling programs, such as Calendly.com. Be sure to still select “Lundquist College of Business, Mohr Career Services” in the “Career Center” field so that our team can promptly help advertise these for you.

Here are some best practice resources for hosting virtual interviews:

Host a workshop for UO students from wherever you are. We welcome topic suggestions and have a list of suggested ideas that best align with questions we often hear from students.

Connect with students online to maintain brand presence, share hiring needs, and connect in groups or one-on-one with interested students. Information sessions can be hosted through Handshake or via your preferred platform. All UO students have access to Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Tips for hosting information sessions through Handshake:

Rather than selecting “On-Campus” as the format, select “Virtual."
Description should be as detailed as possible to help attract the right students to attend. Reach out to us if you’d like assistance.
Virtual event requests will be reviewed and approved by us, but beyond that, you are free to manage the event however you like.

Virtual company tours are an opportunity for you to provide an overview of your company, share photos (if you have them) of your company’s space, and spotlight current employees. Students appreciate genuine conversation about daily life within a company and hearing about employees' personal career journeys. Often, discussions revolve around how employees got started at the company, in the industry, and in their own job search.

Take an hour out of your day to provide open office hours via phone, Zoom, or another web platform of your choosing. Help UO business students understand the current employment market, successfully navigate their job or internship search, and find direction and meaning in uncertain times.
