At the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business, we strive to the highest standards of academic inquiry, learning, and service. We provide access to the best business minds, instilling the tools and values our most accomplished Oregon alumni use every day. We are extremely proud of our graduates.
If this institution has done nothing else, we hope each alumnus leaves us with a robust foundation and commitment to lifelong learning that will pay dividends long into the future.
We hope the journey of discovery is one that will be repeated often as our newly minted graduates begin and sustain a successful career and a successful life.
What that will look like is up to each individual.
One thing is for certain: Being in a position to say yes—being nimble and open, unafraid of change—is an excellent step when laying the foundation for success.
Little will go according to plan, but that doesn't mean the curves and bends life throws won't ultimately lead to fulfillment. It is the challenges we face and the directions they take us that lead to our greatest experiences.
I'll add that this generation has so very much going for it—more tools and opportunities than ever before. It's an exciting time to be entering the business world, and we can't wait to see what the Class of 2017 accomplishes.
Tomorrow, June 20, is the first day of summer. Whether you have earned your undergraduate degree, master, or doctorate with us today or 30 years ago, we hope that tomorrow morning the sun hits your face and you feel exhilarated and energized, ready to make the world just a little better through business. After all, that's what Lundquist Ducks do.
When we say GO DUCKS it isn't just about competition. We are encouraging members of our flock to advance, stretch, progress, and grow to their ultimate potential. So go, Duck. Go!
Congratulations Class of 2017.
