Albany, Oregon, native Megan Kelsch "16 has Duck blood in her veins. Both of her parents grew up in Eugene, and with the respected sports business program at the University of Oregon, there was no question in her mind as to where she would be attending college. Kelsch is now majoring in business administration with a concentration in sports business while pursuing a minor in media studies.
And she's excelled. This year Kelsch received the 2016 David Warsaw Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Sports Business award. The award is given each year to an undergraduate student who exemplifies the Warsaw Center brand and shows great promise as a sports business industry professional.
“It was humbling to find out that I was selected," Kelsch said. “I am so thankful to be a part of the Lundquist College as a whole and the Warsaw Center specifically. I wouldn't have accomplished all that I have without the people who build this program to where it is now and without the support of the amazing faculty and peers."
Outside of the classroom, Kelsch serves as Alpha Kappa Psi's vice president of internal affairs, is an active member of the Warsaw Sports Business Club, and has held an internship with the Corvallis Knights baseball team. Additionally, she and three other Warsaw Center students formed a team that placed as a finalist in the Sports Marketing Association Case Competition.
After graduation, Kelsch hopes to work in sports marketing or event and project management in Portland, Oregon. You can follow her on Twitter @Megan_Kelsch.
