A business student-originated project celebrating the state's Native American culture has received one of the UO's first-ever Equity and Inclusion Innovation Awards.

"We need to have an ethical standard that's higher than ourselves," said Jason Pierce, CEO of the Eugene-area company My Little Salesman, in his keynote speech at the business school's first-ever Ethics Case Competition. Sponsored by the Lundquist College undergraduate honors program together with seven of Lane County's Rotary Clubs, the event drew eleven teams of four undergraduates each.

Four high school valedictorians, one national merit scholar, three Clark Honors College students, and three members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars--all were incoming students to the college's Honors Program this fall. Program director Ron Bramhall said he had the most applicants ever--65 (39 selected)--with an average GPA of 3.8 (3.9 in pre-business courses).
